"Music as medicine" and "nature as medicine" are well established concepts which French-Greek sound artist and performer Alex H. Alexopoulos, aka Wild Anima, combines on her new album Supernatural, by seeking the link between light, plants and our sensuality, and exploring the connection between nature, the body and tenderness, through her folky, ethereal music.” - Full album review on The Letter, electronic music guide
Musicians Wild Anima (Berlin, DE) and Lush Agave (Los Angeles, CA) met in 2017 during a tour in Florida through the former Elestial Sound collective. Their music can be described as ethereal art pop. Their love for nature, the psyche and the inner feminine landscapes lead them to create and unveil together the concept of the Ecology of Emotions.
HIDDEN EDEN art film by Lush Agave & Wild Anima, 2021
Sacred Sea / Never Content (Los Angeles), 2021
HIDDEN EDEN is a short film (33:42) written, directed, filmed, and produced by lush agave and wild anima during residency at the fish factory creative center in stöðvarfjörður, iceland over the summer solstice of 2018.
SYNOPSIS
Exploring the concept of the Ecology of Emotions, this poetic musical art film portrays an inner journey through the secret garden of creativity put into frame by the nature of Iceland.
Hidden Eden is a metaphor for our inner secret garden of creativity. This project bloomed during an art residency in Iceland, sparked by conversations around our shared philosophies on voice and emotional connection. The nature of Iceland inspired us to make the connection on how the landscape reflects our emotional states in our creativity and how it takes part in managing homeostasis of our inner emotional landscapes. This exchange between emotion and the landscape opens a space for healing. Creativity provides us with the tools to access a garden of our authentic being, nourishing and balancing us. Allowing ourselves to explore the spectrum of our emotions through the lens of our relationship with the Earth invites others to do the same. The creative process can affect our well being and is a key to human evolution.
ARTISTS STATEMENT
The core of our work is found in the expression of the inner emotional landscapes that all individuals carry in themselves, and to our hearts this is deeply connected with the way humanity interacts and apprehends itself as well as nature and the environment. Allowing ourselves to explore the spectrum of our emotions in its entirety and the wider sensitive states through our intimate relationship with the Earth as a whole allows others to explore their own terrain and the full spectrum of their inner selves. This to us has a deep connection with the potentials that the creative process can affect not only as a means of well being but also as a main key to human evolution.
HELIOSTĀSIO - Michael reiley & Wild Anima
HELIOSTASIO by Michael Reiley & Wild Anima - Winter Solstice, 2020 (Digital)
Our new ambient release, the two-track album
H E L I O S T Ā S I O stands for the standing of the sun so called by ancient Greeks to describe the solstice. This ambient release is the outcome of an impromptu live jam session by sound artists’s Michael Reiley (Philadelphia) and Wild Anima (Berlin) recorded at Berlin’s Glogauair residency space in September 2018. Inspired by their own individual stays in Iceland the artists paint a multi-layered soundscape standing in between night and day and time and matter. Translating this infinite yet ephemeral moment found in the dance of the celestial bodies, where shadow and light slip softly in between the rhythms of nature and the cosmos. The spaces in between, dawn and dusk, solstices and equinoxes. Recurring patterns yet never the same.

ALKHEMY by Wild Anima, 2020
Artwork "Physical love poem for land, in verse " by Julia Kukkonen.
This album was partly developed during an artist residency in Iceland inspired by the reading of Stephen Harrod Buhner's "The secret teachings of plants: the intelligence of the heart in the direct perception of nature". I chose to spell alchemy with a "k" to recall another form of alchemy that which is created between performer and audience, between two individuals or in between the human heart and the planet Earth.
